SPECIFICATION:

For the purpose of specifying Crimsafe security screens in a tender document the following wording is recommended:

Residential Doors and Screen Specification

"Security Screens - Crimsafe 0.9mm diameter, high tensile 304 grade, woven stainless steel security mesh, screw clamped at 125mm spacings into aluminium security screen / door frame using the patented Crimsafe Screw-Clamp system, tested to withstand singular impacts of 500joules."

Heavy Duty Doors and Screen Specification

"Security Screens - Crimsafe 0.9mm diameter, high tensile 304 grade, woven stainless steel security mesh, screw clamped at 62.5mm spacings into aluminium security screen / door frame using the patented Crimsafe Screw-Clamp system, tested to withstand singular impacts of 700joules."

Commercial Doors and Screen Specification

"Security Screens - Crimsafe 0.9mm diameter, high tensile 304 grade, woven stainless steel security mesh, screw clamped at 25mm staggered spacings into Commercial Grade aluminium security screen / door frame using the patented Crimsafe Screw-Clamp system, tested to withstand singular impacts of 1200joules."

Crimsafe recommend Commercial and Heavy Duty only for Commercial applications

WIRE:

304 grade high tensile-tuff® stainless steel, 0.9mm wire diameter, 800 + 40 Mpa.

MESH:

Plain weave, 10 Count Mesh i.e: 10 strands on the weft x 10 strands on the warp, per square inch / 25.4mm of mesh. Woven to Standards ISO 9044/ ASTM E2016:06.

APERTURES: The Crimsafe mesh has apertures on average of 1.5mm x 1.5mm.

OPEN AREA:

The open area of the Crimsafe woven mesh is 41.6%.

EXTRUSION:

Extruded aluminium alloy 6063-T6.

CLAMPING SYSTEM:

Crimsafe patented, tamper resistant, perimeter Screw-Clamp system, securing the mesh in the frame with patented security head screws, spaced every 125mm, 62.5mm or 25mm staggered (depending on which system is being specified - Residential, Heavy Duty or Commercial respectively) penetrating through the clamp, the mesh and into the screen frame.

INSTALLATION:

All doors and screens to be fitted as per AS5040 - 2003 and the Crimsafe Installation Manual, using tamper resistant security head, installation screws.

SURFACE COATINGS:

Mesh - High durability powder coat
Extrusion - High durability powder coat
Powder coat application as per AS4506: 2005 Metal Finishing for thermoset powder coatings.

TESTING:

All Crimsafe products have been tested to and pass the requirements of AS5039 - 2008 as prescribed in AS5041 Methods of Test - Security screen doors & window grilles:
